Summer 2010:

 

RWNSYC SAILBOAT RACING INSTRUCTIONS 

1 Unless otherwise stated or announced, Races will be held each Wed. @6pm and Sunday @ 2pm. 

                                     
2 Whilst it is left to the discretion of the fleet Capt. Races will start at 1400 hrs. On Sunday and 1800 hrs on Wed. 


3 Whilst the fleet Captain has the right to postpone, cancel or amend any race it is the sole responsibility of each Skipper whether to race or not. 


4 It is the responsibility of each Skipper to obtain a copy of the race instructions, these being available from the club web site or directly from the Fleet Capt. 


5 Signals for starting will be a 5-min. horn (5 blasts) a 2-min. horn (2 blasts) and 1 long blast for the start. 


6 The start signals will be come from 1) the committee boat (Cherlyn) when available, 2) the fleet Capt. (Breagh) or his appointee who in which case will be announced prior to the race. 


7 Whilst the committee boat when available will make every effort to keep times it remains the responsibility of each boat to submit accurate elapsed times, guess estimates based on other boats will not be expectable. 


8 Unless otherwise announced prior to the race by the Fleet Capt. or his appointee, races will be called by 1700 hrs. on Sunday unless any boat crosses the finish prior to that time. 

Should a boat cross the finish line prior to 1700hrs. the race shall continue until 1800 hrs. No times will be accepted for any boat finishing after 1800hrs. 

Wednesday night races will be called at 2000hrs unless any boat crosses the finish prior to that time.  Should a boat cross the finish line prior to 2000hrs. the race shall continue until 2100 hrs. No times will be accepted for any boat finishing after 2100hrs. 


9 All ratings are the responsibility of the Fleet Measurer and while possibly modified are based on Standard PHRF/ ASPN and NSYA rules. 


10 VHF channel 68 will be the hailing and working channel for any Annapolis Basin race, special instruction could be announced on this channel during or prior to the race. Whilst left to the discretion of each skipper she/he may wish to monitor this channel for general safety purposes.
 

All protests will be carefully heard with a deaf ear.
